Write to the editorial desk

The address on this page reaches the desk that maintains the figures. What is worth sending, what happens to a correction, and what this desk cannot answer are set out below.

What is worth writing about

Write when a figure looks wrong. The tables republish public notices as the CMA published them, with the date and the hour each row was read. A reader who sees a number that does not match the named source should say which row and which source. The desk will re-read the source and correct the row if the source has changed.

Write when a source has moved or closed. Each table names its source and links to it under the table. A broken link or a page that no longer exists is useful to report because the measurement depends on a reader being able to check the figure at its publisher. The desk will replace the link with the current location if one exists.

Questions about how the measurement is taken

Write with questions about how the measurement is taken. The desk reads the named public sources and republishes the rows with the date and the hour they were read. The order is the CMA's date, newest first. A question about the sources, the dates, or the columns is answered from the same record the desk keeps.

A question about a figure is answered by checking the source again. The desk does not guess. If the source is ambiguous, the desk says so and leaves the row as the source published it. The desk will not add an interpretation, a rating, or a conclusion about what a row means for any company.

Corrections and what happens to them

A correction is the reason the address exists. When a reader reports a figure that is wrong, the desk re-reads the named source. If the row does not match the source, the row is corrected and the correction is dated. The date shows when the correction was made, and the source link remains under the table.

The desk answers a correction by email. It does not publish the reader's name or address. A correction is not a promise to change an opinion, because the site publishes no opinions. It changes only the row so that it matches the source, and it dates the change.

What this desk cannot answer

This desk cannot answer personal investment questions. It is not a broker, not an exchange, not a licensed adviser, and it holds no client money. It will not say whether a reader should open an account, fund an account, or trade. The rows describe what the regulator has published, not what a reader should do.

This desk cannot help with a broker's account, cannot see a reader's bank or M-Pesa statement, and cannot reach a broker on a reader's behalf. It does not take tips about companies, does not publish warnings of its own, and does not answer questions about the CMA's intentions. It only corrects the measurement against the named public sources.
